Freezer on the Blitz

Just woke up to grab some iced water....and noticed the temp of the freezer was at 28F. Fridge thermostat looked OK at constant 39. This was enough for me to touch the ice-cream, which was soft and when I looked at the ice bin (which has melting moisture drops) and then when I closed the door to confirm - by opening the ice dispenser door (water came out).

Compressor was running, so I just cranked it from 0F to -3 F. Closed door.

It's been about 15 minutes but ambient temps seem to be falling.

Granted, I have seen the ambient temp spike up to around 18F when it defrost, but maybe it's my luck that I woke up and saw the abnormally high temps and soft ice cream ?

What do you guys think is going on .
Freezer on it's way going south ?

It's not dust, etc. I'm pretty good at running a vac on it 1X a month.
