Scratches to the CC stainless steel areas

I have another question to all of the CC owners.

I noticed a demo range from a local store, the cast iron grates all sit on top of the stainless steel surface of the burner. I removed one of these grates and there are deep scratches made by them on the SS.

I also noticed that the front plate of the range can be easily scratched as well from daily use. I think this is common for all SS ranges cause all of them have front SS surfaces on them.

Could these be buffed out?

Yes, the light scratches can be buffed out. Usually with some fine steel wool in the same direction as the original finish. I would not worry about what's under the grate.

I bought a scratch repair kit from these folks and it works very well on stainless steel. It requires some work and you need to read the instructions and watch their videos first.
