Make Up Air For New Hood

Long story short, first fixer-upper, first remodel, first new high-end range. The hood is a Bluestar 48" with a 1400cfm remote blower. I did not think about make up air for the hood when I bought it nor did my dealer mention it. I live in Houston, where it's the better part of too hot 6 months out of the year so opening a window is not a good solution. The house is also slightly over 1000 sqft and close to a century old, so sucking everything out of the cracks doesn't sound so good either.

Can a conditioned air return be added to an existing AC, one that is new but is only a single zone and if so, what sort of price range could I expect? Also, the hood will be side venting to an outside wall. Can a silencer be added in that configuration, not so much for me but for the neighbors?
