Appliance Choices for a New Kitchen

Hello Everyone,

My wife and I are building a new house this year (construction to be completed this fall). We are looking at purchasing an entire new set of appliances. I have been doing a lot of online as well as in person research on various appliance choices. I was hoping to get some feedback from experts or just some individuals with some experience with these appliances.

A little background on my wife and I. Neither of us are chefs, just a couple who enjoy entertaining and cooking at home a lot. My wife does cook a lot in the oven, while i tend to do more on the stove top. We have a couple of munchkins running around, so safety is a concern as well.

We are looking at 48" ranges, 6 burner with a griddle. Likely all gas, but considering the Thermador dual fuel with the steam oven.

Thermador - http://www.thermador.ca/cooking/ranges/prd48jdsgc-48-inch-professional-series-pro-grand-commercial-depth-dual-fuel-steam-range

Capital Culinarian - (I just have to make sure they can be serviced in our area... we live in Ontario) - http://www.capital-cooking.com/product/383#features

We will also be installing a wall oven. One question i had was if we have a convection gas oven in the range, should we go electric or steam? I must admit I have never used/seen a steam oven in use, so it's a bit foreign to me. My wife bakes a little, but the use would be more for cooking. Any suggestions for wall ovens would be appreciated.

Thanks everyone for reading this, I look forward to hearing some opinions.
