GE Monogram Cook Top

I own a 48" GE Monogram Cook Top with 4 burners, griddle and grill. When turning the grill on to preheat, all is fine. When I turn to the temperature to start cooking, the grill makes a sputtering noise. GE has replaced parts, but the sputtering noise still exists. It cooks fine, so no problem there. Anyone else had this issue?
