We recently moved into a house with relatively new appliances. There is a GE Quiet 3 Dishwasher which has mold/mildew on the bottom where the door closes. Any suggestions on what the best route is to get rid of it?

The mold or the dishwasher? Just kidding ... The cheapest and easiest way is to mix 3/4 cup Clorox or other Chlorine Bleach in one gallon of water and use the solution to clean off the mold. Used in this fashion, on non-porous surfaces, the bleach will kill the mold. Once you have it all clean, ensure that the dishwasher is not leaking during operation. This could occur due to a faulty fill valve or flood sensor or a damaged/deformed door seal. Please be sure not to mix the bleach with any other household chemical unless you have a background in Chemistry and a thorough understanding of the periodic table of elements. :)

I would also suggest adding a drop or two of dish soap to that gallon of water.
