Undermount Microwave Option

Posted by kjreif (My Page) on

I am selecting appliances for my new kitchen and the plan calls for an microwave that would mount under a wall cabinet (12 inches deep). I'd like it to not stick out too far, but still be a decent size microwave. Does anyone know if the GE spacespaver is my only option? Do I have other choices?

Thanks!

RE: Undermount Microwave Option

Hi kjreif, I'm doing the same thing in my remodel, but will install a Sharp R1214 microwave. The upper cabinet will be 15' deep, and 28 3/8' high plus moulding and crown to still run even with the adjacent light rails. The MW when mounted will be one additional inch out over the 24' counter below. Has some nice features, including its own hanging utensil rod, suspended in the back and below.
