Kitchen aid Pro line of kitchen appliances

Posted by mary1218 (My Page) on

We area doing a complete kitchen remodel and are in the process of selecting new appliances. I think I may go with Kitchen Aid's Pro line for the refrigerator, gas range, microwave and dishwasher. Does anyone have any pros or cons on this model from Kitchen Aid? The more I look the more I get confused. Any information would help. Thank you

RE: Kitchen aid Pro line of kitchen appliances

i ordered the fridge, dishwasher and convection microwave for my kitchen remodel. the cabinet guys screwed up the cabinet for the microwave, so i ended up w/ a thermador MCES instead.
i'm happy w/ the fridge,i especially like the refrigerator, but the freezer is a bit small. filtered water for dispenser and ice maker is welcomed here.
but after a week the latch on the dishwasher wouldn't function. today it was replaced with the newly improved latch. apparently this has been a problem with the kude40 line. i will say it does a good job on dishes (i've had it full of dirty dishes for 2 weeks and ran it this afternoon..spotless everything).soooo...if you go this route, make sure they install the upgraded latch.
do you intend to use the microwave as your range hood? (300 cfm seems a bit anemic for a 60,000 btu cooking surface)
nice touch having a warming drawer though.
