Wolf: Do u see a difference b/t highest & lowest simmer settings?

Posted by Madeline616 (My Page) on

I've had my 36" DF Wolf for over a year now, and am very happy with it.

I've wondered, though, if there's really actually any difference in the amount of heat output in the area between the high and low simmer settings.

When I turn the knob from "low" to "high" on the simmer settings, I can see only 2 flame sizes, a low and a high, and nothing in between.

IOW, Rather than a *range* of flame sizes as I turn the knob, it seems to just go from point A to point B, low to high.

Wondering if anyone who knows about these things can comment.

Thanks!

Thanks!

You could test with a thermometer a sauce pan with one or two cups water heat at the two settings for a set amt of time take temp... Repeat using fresh water allow cool down as well.

Yes there is a range. This is turning the knob slowly.

Here is a link that might be useful: Wolf sealed burner -up and down on simmer.

Thank you both for the input.

Video was very helpful--and sure enough, I turned the knob on my range very slowly, like in the video, and saw that there is in fact a perceptible range.
