Sub Zero Icemaker Floor Model Advice Needed

Again looking for sage advice from the commenters, this time on a Sub Zero undercounter ice maker. I have been offered a good deal on a display model that is being replaced by a local showroom. I am somewhat concerned that it will be headache because, while it would be sold as a new product with full warranty intact, it has been in use for several years and as such probably does not have the life expectancy of an actual new model. Also, I did not know that SZ had changed the design of the icemaker since its introduction but the pictures certainly do not look like the new undercounter ice maker model. Does anyone know if the icemaker has changed since its introduction which I believe was in 2009?

That is the previous generation made by Scotsman for SZ.

The new model is made at an entirely different operation and has storage for the scoop in the door, interior lighting, a built in water filter, and it is much easier to conceal / integrate with surrounding cabinets.

That was a fine unit but it would have to be well under a grand for me to even consider it used.
