Kitchen Aid Dishwasher Review

Advisory to anyone thinking of re-doing their kitchen: do not expect your appliances to be problem free. No matter what you spend, no matter where you buy from, chances are that at least one of your major appliances will arrive damaged, defective, or somehow not work properly. For this reason, I think where you buy the appliance is as important as which appliances you choose.

Case in point, our Kitchen Aid dishwasher (which we now love and recommend) arrived with the door hinges bent. The door was very difficult to open and close. They sent someone out and they tried to literally bang them back in place with a mallet. Door closed, but now dishwasher leaked all over our hardwood floor. Many emails and calls later, they literally took the entire dishwasher out into our garage and re-built it with all new parts. You may wonder to yourself why they didn't just swap out the unit, since it was probably much more expensive to rebuild it, but it's an internal accounting thing for them.

The bottom line is the unit is now flawless and we really love it. Super quiet, cleans beautifully, highly recommended, despite the problems in the beginning.
