Bosch Benchmark DW vs. 800 plus series

so confused- we were set on the 800 plus series but now see the new benchmark. when i compare the two on bosch's website the only real differences seem to be that the benchmark is noted as made in germany (which i thought the 800 plus was made in germany) and that the benchmark is somewhat quieter. we did not plan on spending any more money on a dishwasher but does anyone know if the 800 plus is actually made in germany and if there are truly differences between the two. thanks!

A few of the 800+ are/were made in Germany, but most of them are made in NC.

I haven't looked in a few months, but it may well be that that now, only the Benchmarks are made in Germany, and no "800 series" will be. Meaning it's really just a streamlining of the product lineup.

I could easily be wrong about this though.

The German-made models, besides being substantially more expensive, are a bit shorter front to back with similar-looking racks that are over an inch shorter as to fit European cabinetry. They do have slightly more flexible bottom racks (allowing every 2nd peg/tine to fold down rather than all or none) and are fractionally quieter (38/39 db instead of 40). Otherwise, they look similar.

Our 800 Plus Bosch DW is marked "Made in Germany" on the upper inside of the door , but it was installed almost 18 months ago. A lot can change in that span of time.

Can anyone update this thread? I'm on the hunt and there's a cash incentive to purchase by Nov 30th. I'm torn-- Benchmark, 800 series or a Miele. My 13 y.o. Miele pump is dying and I need to replace it the machine soon. Last night I had to clear it and restart at least 6 times. Not fun and I'm don't want to be left with a machine full of water and dirty dishes. Any suggestions or reviews?
