 o
Narrow & tall fridges - advice on Fagor, other options?

Posted by mschroder (My Page) on

I'm looking for an extra-narrow, extra-tall refrigerator.

So far, I only found the following: Fagor, Summit, Blomberg.

None of these brands are familiar to me, and I'm wondering if anyone has had any experience with them?

I have a Fagor oven which is terrific, but do be aware the company is in bankruptcy. I'm not sure whether they will come out of it and continue to make/service appliances.

Summit is pretty popular here if you do a google search (don't think you'll find much using the site's search).

There are a number of people who have their fridges and the verdict is generally favorable. Blomberg is fairly new in the game in the US so the jury's still out.

Liebherr refrigerators are tall and narrow. I have a CS1360 24" wide counter depth. They are very quiet as they have a unique de-frost system not requiring a fan to run constantly. I have had good luck with mine.

I second the Liebherr recommendation.
We have the HCB1561, which is 30"x80". As mata says, it's extremely quiet. Also keeps produce very well, and it makes great little clear ice cubes!
