 o
Miele Dimension vs Dimension Plus dishwasher: help deciding

Posted by Central79 (My Page) on

We are deciding between the Miele Dimension vs. Dimension Plus Dishwashers for our new home. We particulalrly like the 3D cutlery tray available on both.

Does anyone have personal experience or first hand knowledge of pros and cons to help us decide?

Thank you!

Plus models have an xtra dampening pad on them making them a tad bit quieter.

Most people won't be able to tell the difference.

I believe that the plus model also has the auto open feature. I have that feature on the Diamond and I like it. I allows the steam to escape the the cycle is done. Agree that the extra level of quiet probably doesn't matter too much.

The comparison PDF has all the differences, the main one being the Dimension Plus opens at the end for better drying, just like on the Diamond model.

Here is a link that might be useful: http://www.mieleusa.com/pdf/Dishwashers/G5000_Futura_series.pdf

If you are going to get a Miele, then spend a little extra and get the plus with the auto-open feature. I did this a year ago and haven't regretted it at all. There is an air circulatory that runs for a minute or so after it opens which drys the dishes better than any of the old style dishwashers I've had with the heat drying turned on.

If you are concerned about the cutlery tray don't be, we didn't have one before our remodel, and now 3+ months after the remodel being done and using the new DW we really love that tray and can't see not having it any longer, it is a great feature.

We have the auto-open and love that as well, the unit is super quiet.
