Maytag refrigerator

Having problems with the icemaker in my Maytag refrigerator. It won't dislodge the icecubes. It seems to be freezing up, but that doesn't seem likely. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Or guidance on how to manually operate it without damaging it. Can it be unplugged and removed for cleaning? I guess I have no idea about what could be causing the problem.

If it is like my Jenn-air, the ice maker can be removed, mine is mounted by 3 screws which you remove and then unplug a connector.

Mine lasted 5 years, and then had the same problem as yours.
The heater burned out in it. I just replaced the whole ice maker, which was about $135. You might be able to get a heater for it, but it would be a bit of a job to replace, and probably not worth the few dollars you would save just replacing the heater instead of the whole Ice maker.

Do you mean it will not dislodge the cubes from the tray or that it will not send any down the shoot (assuming an in-door ice dispenser)?
