Prestige Range Hood Opinions

Hello, we've been having a horrible time finding a classic styled stainless steel chimney wall mount range hood that is under $3,500. We need a 42 or 48" (24" deep) hood to go over a new Wolf 36" gas rangetop. We really love the Wolf Pro Chimney wall hood, but we have a 10 foot vaulted ceiling and Wolf does not offer a flue extension for this height. We'd have to piece smaller extensions together and the Wolf rep does not recommend that because the seams would not be tight. The range wall is a focal point so we can't risk that.

I like the looks of the Viking chimney style range hood, but you need to use a Viking ventilation kit or you void the warranty. We have a remote blower installed in the attic, so that won't work. And we've also not read anything good about Viking equipment lately.

I've finally found one that I think will work: the Prestige Pyramid Classic. Looks good, comes with an optional seamless flue extension for 10" ceilings and is within our budget. I can't find many reviews of this hood, and there are no dealers in my immediate area where I can take a look at one.

Anyone have experience with Prestige? Thanks!

Prestige are very good hoods.

Used to be very popular here on GW but a dealer that is quite popular here switched to Modern-Aire. Not because of the quality of Prestige simply because they made a hood specific to this dealer and a better business proposition.

Prestige is made by Prizer Stove Works. They also make Bluestar Ranges and Hoods as well as what used to be called Independent Hoods but is now Prizer Hoods.

I bought an old Independent hood from a liquidator and had Prizer make me a one off custom flue. First rate quality. I ordered when they just restarted Independent as Prizer, within a week of reopening for business. They told me it would take 4-6 weeks but they took 14 weeks. They gave me free shipping and some minor accessories as compensation.

If you have a local Bluestar or Prizer Hoods dealer you can check out those hoods there. Same thing made in Reading Pennsylvania.

I'll look around for a Prizer or Bluestar dealer. Finding the right hood is really holding up this remodel, so I hope to get one ordered this week!

I'll second Prizer's quality. Absolutely gorgeous craftsmanship, the hood is a work of art. But same issue on timing here, they quoted 6-8 weeks, hood was finally delivered in 12 weeks, but without the remote blower... still waiting almost 16 weeks...

I'm confused. So Prestige and Prizer are different brands, both owned by Prizer Stove Works? Anyone know what the differences are? I can easily find information on Prestige because they are carried by online retailers, but not a whole lot on Prizer.
I am looking for a 48" wide wall mounted hood with an inline blower and baffles.
