Washer and Dryer question?

I've been searching around and reading reviews. (for what that's worth).
"had" decided on GE Profile, elect. White, look like older ones, have a good looking control area. have more than enough functions to suit. $1000.00 set
BUT, the reviews I've seen is... Love the dryer, Hate the washer.
As with most any that "look and price" like this style. Just Not many reviews on any of them.

Then, ran across one of the newer looking LG washer and dryers. LOOKS really sharp/pretty. More functions than I'd EVER use. $1800.00 set.
And reviews? Hundreds. Not just one or two, but HUNDREDS!
And most all are good reviews.
NOW, how is that possible?
Is everybody buying a new washer and dryer based on How it LOOKS? (and I do mean everybody).
AND, these LGs just happen to work really well also?

What gives? The older "looking" ones have one or two reviews and mostly not good.
The newer style has hundreds of reviews, mostly good.

You should post on the laundry forum. You'll get better responses there.
