Need wall-oven recommendation

I'm looking for a single, electric, wall-oven. I've only ever used a low-end electric range. While I'm interested in trying convection, I don't need speed, steam or "auto-temperature select" features. Really. I'm the one doing the cooking, I don't need my oven to help me with temperature selection.

Basically I'd like it to be well-built, well-insulated and decently large for around $2000-2200 (Canadian market pricing). The appliance guy I spoke with last week liked the KA Architect II for overall value. It did seem well built vs. the Electrolux and the Frigidaire.

Suggestions?

I suggest that you look into GE's Profile line for convection wall ovens. We have a 27" that's over 5 years old and we love it. I do a fair amount of roasting and baking, and this oven performs very well. It has all of the nice features that I'd ever need. I think it should be within your price range, but I'm not up on the current pricing or models. Common "wisdom" is that GE can have expensive repairs, so I purchased the extended maintenance (or whatever they call it), $7/mo for the oven and refrigerator. Haven't had to use it yet. Steve

I have an Electrolux Icon 30". It's great. 3 of the 4 racks are on an extension glide and it has European convection. Another big plus is that the exterior of the door does not get hot.

Take a look at the Bosch 300 or 500 series. Very nicely made.

I have the KA. Love it -- works great -- does what it is supposed to do.

Fisher & Paykel and GE Monogram are also in your price range. I got the F&P, and love it.

Have a dacor and have had problems with repairs.
