GE Monogram 48' Hood - A bargain?

I've been looking for good middle-of-the-road range hood to go over my 48 dual fuel Bertazzoni.

I made the trek to a Vent a Hood dealer to check them out in person today and happened upon a "scratch and dent" sale on a GE Monogram 48" Hood (ZV48TSFSS) there.

I didn't know anything about the hood, but saw the open box and saw the substantial baffle filters and "Made in Italy" printed on everything. I was surprised when he pulled it out of the box and there was a GE logo on the front.

This model has the warming lights and, while not in the chimney style I was looking for, is beautiful. The scratches are very very minor and something I could live with.

I'd like to know if anyone has experience with this line of hoods and if the $2000 price tag is the huge bargain the salesman made it out to be.

It is about $2475 new.

Neither top tier nor bottom tier quality.

Below is a 54" chimney hood that is absolutely top tier quality. 16 gauge 304 SS with seamless constuction. You will need to get a shop to fabricate a duct cover if needed because manufacture is out of business and there is no warranty.

You have to buy a seperate blower too.

$1k plus $85 Shipping.
