Dacor face cracking and melting

Posted by JStaniford (My Page) on

I have a Dacor Range Model PGR30 that has been trouble since new (10 years). I replaced the front panel with control panel within a couple of years, because it failed. Now the front panel has craked down the middle, allthough it still works. The plastic panel that forms the oven door handle melts a little each time the oven is cleaned. It has now melted to the point the door does not seal very well. Has anyone else experienced these problems? Is there a solution, other than replacing the oven?

If you're seeing damage to a range control panel surface the first thing I'd check is the seal around the oven door because heat is escaping somehow.
