hi - do a quick search at the bottom of the page and you will find lots of info on Bertazzoni. If you don't get a chance to see the range live at a retailer you may want to download the owners manual from the Bertazzoni site. It operates differently that what many are use to in a gas range. (Different experiences from owners/some fine - some not) Getting service on the range should not be a problem - they have a service company that coordinates service calls in arl areas. They do look good!

After I first began looking for a gas cooktop and discovered that Bertazzoni made one, I've changed my mind to now planning to install a 24" Bertazzoni gas range. It is mostly because of the input of folks on this forum and on the kitchen forum. But here primarily. There were up to 3 full threads related to Bertazzoni, but I think the older two fell off the forum. As someone pointed out, the Bertazzoni is a Euro style range, not a PRO style. In the 24" stove top, the highest BTU burner is 15000 BTU. In the 24" cooktop, the highest BTU burner is 12000BTU. But I agree, the look is very sleek. And, a good reputation for quality products.

I should clarify - the service calls I had were coordinated through Bertazzoni's service group. My retailer (online) was not much help at all. So, if you are dealing with a local store that will assist with service issues or dealing with B direct then you should not have a problem should you need a service visit.

Mine has been up and running in our new kitchen for almost a month and I love it!!! (I also purchased the matching Heritage stainless backsplash w/ tool bar.) I went around and around wondering which range to purchase and could not be happier. I bought it from a local retailer who warranties and services them, though I could have gotten one for less $ online. The look is just perfect in our 120-yr-old house. My ONLY minor complaint is, yes, it is a LITTLE bit tricky to light the burners compared to most American ranges. But I have been using a European range (in China) for the past 5 years which lit the same way, so I was used to it and it doesn't bother me to hold the knob in while it is click-click-clicking. LOVE the six burners, love, love, love the gigantic oven. All components feel solid and heavy. Good luck with your decision! a href="http://photobucket.com" target="_blank">

Shanghai mom- Sigh. That is so beautiful. Do you have any other photos of your kitchen? My kitchen is in an older home, too, and has many features like your kitchen. I assume that is the 36"?

e4849, yep, it is the 36". Here is another pic...I could NOT have planned the kitchen without the GW kitchen forum! Did not need to post much, because I always found such a wealth of info with my searches. Thermador Freedom French Door Fridge: I really had a hard time spending lots of money on a refrigerator, but it is the only FD which could be fully integrated with inset cabs. We love it!

Shanghaimom -- do you have a straight-on photo of your range install? Also from the other side? It's quite unique and I'd love to be able to see it better.

hi rococogurl, I don't have a straight-on shot but this shows the other side, which is our eat-in area. We love the pass-thru--my kids actually get a kick out of handing over all the dirty dishes....

That's beautiful! We're abut 99% sure we're going with the 36" in Berta XT. No matter how many ranges I look at I keep going back to the Berta. In a dream world I'd get a Lacanche, but the budget isn't there right now!
