| I'm losing a family member, my 36 year old Cold Spot refrigerator by Sears has died. I do not like buying new things and this is no exception.
Here's what I know I want and don't want, I'm concerned I may be missing something important. Want - top freezer, white, functional interior space and door shelf space, quiet as possible. Don't want - ice maker, water dispenser, don't need room for gallon milk on door, don't feel passionate about being energy efficient in this case. My current refrigerator is 17 cu feet, 32 wide, 66 high, 27 deep with handles. I don't have much more space except I could go deeper by 3". I need to order one within the next day or two. My concern is missing something important. I saw a Kenmore for $500, model 68802 in the store and it looked like it might do, but in looking at more Kenmore models online I see it doesn't have a crisper with humidity control. Do I need "humidity control"? I know I can spend MORE time online comparing models but time is running out. Do I need a drawer with "humidity control," or glass shelves? Am I missing something important? Thanks,

| Obviously, if they are optional a lot of people don't find them necessary. Humidity controled crispers allow you to preserve produce longer.Do you like shopping for produce twice a week at the local supermarket or farmers market? Or do you prefer to buy produce in bulk at Costco/Sam's? Many find glass shelves easier to keep clean. Some have the edges angled to prevent spills from reaching lower shelves. It depends if it has value to you. |
