Can microwave shelf go right next to fridge?

Hi,
We are designing our own kitchen cabinet layout with Merillat cabinets as specified by the builder. I want to put the microwave shelf next to the fridge panel,like the picture below. I have the Merillat specification book, and it says that all of their microwave cabinets must have extra support by being between two cabinets or a cabinet and a wall.
If we do a fridge panel, would that count as providing the support necessary? I suppose they put some extra screws in either side to support the weight.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
