It depends on how and what you cook. Try running them through the dishwasher again on the pot scrubber cycle with extra high hot water and see if that works. You could also try scrubbing them with Fantastic or some other cleaning product.

Running through the dishwasher has been the easiest and best results for me.

I try to run my baffles through the DW every month or two. I also wipe down opening and remove excess grease from the walls of the hood.

I hope that you removed the clear plastic protective coverings that may have been on your baffles when they were shipped. Dishwashing them might lead to adhesive changes that could remain as a sticky residue. However, you would also end up with a dishwasher full of plastic wrap like strips, I imagine.
