Hard to believe it, but I have had the Thermador columns installed a little over 8 years now. The only problem we've had was being the first ones installed in the area and being the learning curve. But not only are the techs experienced now, Thermador has also simplified the process. With that in mind, the price tag is the only ting not to love, but it is worth it for me.

Not long term, but I've had my Liebherr for two years, and love it!
No issues thus far...chris

Little over 2 years as well for me on my Liebherr's, SBS-24i1 is my model number. Love them so far (knock on wood).

I have a single-door over freezer built-in Thermador, and also have had no problems at all in the year it's been in use.

The hinges on the Thermador columns make them my pick, opening the Freedom columns just make you say 'wow'.

Is it the hinges themselves (heft, design, what?) or how they function (abilty to put the column flush against a wall?) that you like?

I'm not sure what the Thermador hinges look like, but my Liebherr hinges are pretty darn impressive.
I would think the nature of any fully integrated refrigerator requires some sort of similar hinge action to allow it to open.

Come to think of it, the hinge action, along with a 24" depth, and accepting panels pretty much defines a fully integrated refer... chris
