My home is work approx $1million

This tells me absolutely nothing. The more important factor is where it's located. Not just geographical region/city but specific neighborhood. $1 million might get you a plain 2000sqft single family home in one place and a luxurious mansion in another. The question you want to be looking for the answer to is what do the kitchens look like in nearby similarly priced homes. Then model yours after that. As much as I hate the idea of keeping up with the Joneses I think it is the best strategy in some cases.

Brand names don't matter so much as the big picture. Either they don't really care about appliances, in which case any decent looking stainless 30" range will be fine. No need to worry much about whether it's pro style or not. Or, they want high end, in which case they'll think 30 inches is a bit small.

So in summary, if the $1m houses nearby have built in SubZero fridges and hulking 48" ranges, or double ovens with rangetops, you'll want to aim for similar sizes if you're really concerned about resale. If you see mostly mid range appliances, then don't worry about going super high end in yours.

How big is your family, and do you cook for them often? Is the kitchen a good size, so that perhaps a rangetop and separate wall oven would fit in your kitchen? Are you set up to exhaust the range--i.e. have ductwork in place so that a hood over the range will exhaust the smoke and grease out of the house? I am asking that last question, because if you do not have a good exhaust setup, you shouldn't bother with an expensive "pro" hi-btu range; in that case a good middle-of-the-road 30" range would suit.

As has been said by Hvtech, a million dollars buys a mansion in some areas. But in, say, Manhattan or San Francisco, it's a tiny starter home. So let us know if a million is fairly average for your area, or is it low or high.
