Not familiar with the model you're referring to, but our 30-year-old Little Litton, about 700 watts output, just died. We used it, happily, for the tasks you mention. Replaced it with a 1000 watt light commercial Panasonic that is somewhat faster but takes up too much room on the counter. I've never liked combination appliances because when one part dies, you have to replace the whole thing.

Whirlpool makes a very small microwave that's shaped to fit into a corner easily, sold at Lowes and elsewhere, available in black, silver, or white:

I have the smallest microwave Samsung makes and it has worked flawlessly so far; it's about 2-1/2" wider than the Whirlpool though and no roomier inside, but is also shorter since the controls are to the right of rather than below the door.
