Any Problems With Self-Cleaning Feature on Capital Gas Ranges?

My wife has her heart set on a 36" Capital gas range because they have self-cleaning and come in colors. The only other all gas range we've found with these features is a Viking, but my wife doesn't like how they look. [We don't want a duel fuel range because we don't have a 220 V outlet and I don't want to install one in my 1899 house].

Has anyone experienced problems from using the self-clean function? Does it damage the enamel finish, fry electronics (ARE there electronics on Capitals?), other problems? I'm dubious about self-cleaning ranges; we haven't dared use that function for years on the old Caloric range we're replacing.

Any problems NOT related to the self-cleaning function? I hope to never buy another range after this one
