My 8 year-old Dacor telescopic downdraft has been repaired three times at a cost of $1000. (Twice the computer chip under the power button had to be replaced. Once there was a mechanical failure that put the vent into a free fall to the counter top.) At the moment, it's working but the fall left it a bit warped and the only thing keeping the screens from falling out is tape.

I want to replace it with another brand (leaning toward Wolf) but would prefer to only replace the inside unit and keep the ductwork and remote blower that's always worked just fine.

Is this possible? Will a different brand "marry" with the Dacor remote blower?
