Please post a picture of the stove and a picture of the mark on the front.

We need a lot more information to pin this one down. You'll have to supply more detail if you hope to find the answer.

If your stove is made of cast iron, it could use both wood or coal.

Small pot bellies were used in cabooses of steam engined trains. Larger versions were in railway depots. Similar examples were found in homes, stores, and schools.

There existed a rail line called "Seaboard and Roanoke". It was organized in 1833 as "Portsmonth and Roanoke". It ran from near Waldon, NC to Portsmonth, VA and on to Hampton Roads.

A railroad might order a number of stoves with the rail line's name cast in a prominent location with the maker's name on the base.

I'll post a picture I think it was used for coal I have seen 2 on line that look almost the same it is very basic design it's about 350 pounds no draft vent on door or ash pan has handle on side that shakes ash to ash pan on the front base it has cast in it ( no SEABOARD 10) on door (no 0) on back (mo 18) and (mo 20) the top slims down to 6in pipe size with no place to put any thing on it to cook/warm the walls and base are about 1/2 in thick.
