How to tell if apple baskets are old (pic heavy)

these are from my CL find (the verdicts still out if it will truly be considered a find ;)

I have googled these, ebay searched them for completed auctions etc. Clearly the vintage baskets have a decent value. so what distinguishes them. Are these just junk?

I've linked to an Ebay auction for an apple basket that seems to be what the seller says. The construction of the bottom looks more substantial.

Look for workmanship...less splintery boards...even lapping of the bottoms.
Compare your basket with those linked...there is a difference.
