Carved Bird - Would love to know more !

If anyone could suggest who this bird might be carved by, it has initials "MF" on base. It is a very tactile object and the lines are fab, would just love to know more ...

It looks like one of the Seri Indian ironwood sculptures.

Is it wooden, but REALLY heavy?

Quite - I was told it came from Cornwall

The carving resemblies a penguin.

It might be a seabird like a murre or guillemot - very sleek almost no tail.

I'd have to fondle the wood to tell if it's ironwood. Bu7t without a signature, it's impossible to say exactly what it is.
