Vintage jewelry whatsit??

Sorting through a few drawers of jewelry with my mom & sis, today. (From BFF's "estate"). We don't really have much of a clue, regarding what has value (to someone) & what should be donated, or tossed-out.

Anyone know what this is? It's attached to a short looped chain, it works like scissors, sort-of, squeezing the chain-end together opens the other end, like a clamp. I'm lost, as to the purpose of this. Any advice appreciated!

Maybe its a fancy roach clip :) sorry.. couldn't resist

It's a vintage glove holder clip. The chain usually has a fastener that fastens around a purse strap keeping the pair of gloves together with the purse.

Glove-holder-clip is a new one, for me... & what a cool accessory for a lady of the (whenever that was) time! I'll research that, very soon.

Hmm.. It amazes me, that ladies had (made) time for accessory doo-dads like that - when I'm always in too much of a rush to bother with gloves, on my way out the door... Or, when I rush back in for the van keys I forgot to grab! Where has all the "class" gone? Lol..
