I came up with many pages by Googling Birks Sterling Silver Marks. It's a Canadian firm. Would take some sifting through information to find exactly what you have.

They are probably from 1937, as a commemorative set. Birks is a canadian company & they use a similar type of date code as British marks. So I would have to see the shape of the cartouche along with the "b"

They mention Queen Elizabeth on the box ... so it's after her father's death in 6 February 1952

Most probably a high-end souvenir set for her 1953 coronation, or even later.

Actually, no. The Queen Elizabeth mentioned is Elizabeth, the Queen Mother. The other kings have their Queens at their sides, Alexandra and Mary. No dates are given for the Queens as they didn't reign.
A bit sexist that they didn't give Victoria her Prince Consort.

OK ... If they show the "Queen Mum" ... it's probably a coronation souvenir from 1937.
