Old lamp

Hi everyone,
I bought an old lamp which is a tall "stick" type from the 1930's? I'm wondering what type of shade to buy for it; does anyone have a pic of the type I'm talking about with original lampshade? I'd like to get it as close to the original style as possible.
Not sure how to describe the lamp except it's tall and thin, torchiere?
Thanks for any help! |

| So, are you speaking of a floor lamp, instead of a table lamp? Of course there were torchieres in the 30s, but there were also slim columnar floor lamps, often with half globes, where another cloth or paper shade was meant to sit atop the glass globe. They came in all shape/sizes and descriptions. If this is a floor lamp, does it have the tiny night light under the base? Is it metal? Picture wouldn't hurt and as good a description as possible helps. |

| Sorry my description wasn't very descriptive! It is a floor lamp. It's about 5 1/2 ' tall, gold painted metal and a beautiful green marble-like stone. It has 2 bulb outlets facing downward. Also a top that screws on and off to replace shade. I'm guessing about the 1930's; the cord is very old and frail. I'll try to post a pic, though I'm a little slow on the tech stuff. |

I'm thinking earlier than 1930...like maybe 1920 or a little before. The shade should be silk, probably dark green with a fringe. Linda C |
