I crochet but don't know if this is chuny lace or not. It is very nice & fine thread & lovely work so enjoy! Have a book with oodles of stitches but don't see chuny anywhere. It would take an experienced crocheter to make this. Looks like 20 of finer thread so would use silver hook. Flowers are nice but what is special is the butterflies around, never have seen that before. Lot of work to get that right! Enjoy!! It's beautiful!

Can't see your stitches up close, but the butterflies are very indicative of "cluny lace". The picture I attached is typical "cluny".

Thank you! I think that is it, then. Not sure why that name jumped into my head when I first saw the piece. I just love it! My new favorite. I have other bobbin lace pieces, but they are all pretty linear, with box like designs.

The other thing that identifies it as a Cluny lace is the predominance of the wheel designs.
