High back chair

My mother in law gave us this chair, but I haven't been able to find out anything about it. Has anyone seen a chair like this or have any info about it?

It belonged to my mother in law's mother and she says it's Amish.

My first hunch is that it is a repro. Let's just say the tole painting on it is definitey modern and is not Amish.
