Is this rug an unfinished piece? It has a pattern but no pile.

Is it yours? Where did you get it? What does the other side look like? Is the pattern we see due to coloring on the fabric or to knots and different thread?
Could it be a dyed floor cloth?

Could be the underside of any rug....(pattern, but no pile) as shown on this one at my front door.

The OP emailed me....said she rescued it curbside and it was a dyed rug that has faded.
