How do you date Italian Micro Mosaic Jewelry?

IÃ¯Â¿Â½ve been trying to date a small collection of Italian Micro Mosaic brooches and earrings. I have read that the smaller the mosaic pieces are, the older the item is. I have also seen it vaguely implied that you can tell the age by the type of clasp on a brooch. Is this true? Can anyone help me date these lovely treasures?

Well the smaller the pieces of mosaic/glass are the more valuable...but don't think that necessarily equates to age.
A marking should give you an indication.
If you post pictures you may find someone who can tell you more.
