Hi (please excuse the mess I was moving from NY to WI when I took the pictures),

I need some help identifying this gate leg table without a drawer and a case with three leaves. The number 3936 is stamped or burnt into the wood under a rail and a tiny yellow sticker that reads "NORTH AMERICAN T-165" is stuck to the top of the case the leaves are in. Each leaf is the full width of the table.

I picked up the table after an auction in Pittsford, NY. The owner had a multimillion dollar art collection and many amazing pieces. This table was sadly forgotten about, which made me happy because I needed a side table. I used it for 5 years and am thinking about refinishing it. However, if it is a rare or valuable piece I do not want to "ruin" something by painting it that is a piece of history. Any help would be appreciated. I've done a lot of searching, but cannot find a table with these legs, no drawer and a case with leaves.
