My painting is an original....

I took your advice and contacted an art professor. Just got off the phone, he told me my painting is an orginal. He confirmed it's a water color, from the pictures I sent him. He told me the value of the painting (without the frame) is between 5,000 and 7,000.

Thanks for the suggestion of contacting an art department.

Congrats, ilene-84! It's a pretty piece. Can you believe someone threw it out in 1923?!

Must say, I'm somewhat surprised that an art professor can tell an original watercolor from a picture (probably in an email)and also put a value on it from a picture.

Good for you if, in fact, that is true.
