I can't identify these 2 Hummel looking figurines

I have 2 figurines that have a Hummel look, but they have no identifying marks and no base. I've looked everywhere without luck. Can anyone identify?

Thank you. Here's a few pictures of them:

    I don't see anything Hummel-like....
They almost look "Kewpie-ish"...no marking at all?
Look like a depiction of WW I red cross/medic and his aviatrix companion.
don't sell them cheaply....to the right collector they would be worth a bundle.

I found something from Hummel to commemorate the armed forces and the faces looked similar, but that's as close as I got to anything. I thought Kewpie as well, but only hit deadends.

This is the Hummel piece that I mentioned to show why I went that way.

I can see the Hummel piece when I cut and paste. Your figurines are nothing like any Hummel I've ever seen. And I mean that as a compliment.

I'm sorry that I am no help but have to say that your figurines are really neat!

You give no information where you got them and what you may have paid for them. There are lots of cute, adorable, etc., figurienes that have no identifying marks. IMO. these type of items don't hold much value.

It's the subject matter of these figures that give them their value....and the fact that they are so obviously early 20th century in style.

They were with my grandmother's things when she died, so they weren't purchased.

I've had some additional findings. It appears they are googlies from Germany. The googly style resulted in Kewpie dolls in the US and later the Campbell Soup Kids.

When Germany couldn't meet demand after the war, they were reproduced in Japan and those are marked "Nippon" on the dolls. These are from Germany, around 1912.

To the best of my ability, I believe the value to be around $350 each.

    Thanks all.

I thought I saw a bit of resemblance to the Grace Gebby Drayton figures. LOL!
Thanks for returning to tell us what you found.

I am only curious how you arrived by this information without any markings?

Check the family history - they may have been a gift to your grandmother or an earlier ancestor as a WWI war souvenir.

They are really sweet, Hayden! I hope they are being well cared for, they could turn out to be quite a collector's item...if you get a chance to ask an antique expert I bet you'll be pleased with the value!
