figurines with unknown markings

Hello! I was hoping someone could help me identify the markings on the bottom of these figures I have. I was told they were antiques, but I have my doubts. And I can't determine the language of the markings, it seems Asian but I can't read it. I'd like to sell them but I have no idea even who they're by or what they are.

RE: figurines with unknown markings

Looks to me like someone - carver/crafter - possibly attempting to put a modern "American" stamp on Japanese Netsuke.

The animal faces, etc. are just too cutsy to be Asian, let alone likely Asian antiques. Do dads for a collectibles shelf.

I don't mind being wrong, so maybe someone has other ideas.

Are they wood?
Very cute, but not antique and not Asian.
