can anyone help me with this Japanese Tea Set? all I know about it is that my uncle was stationed in japan in the late 50s or early 60s and brought this set with him for my Grandmother. It has a handwoven handle and tray ,beautiful artwork, i cant read what is on the bottom because it is in Japanese ,so any help would be greatly appreciated !

It's lovely!! But I don't have any words....perhaps if the backstamp were clearer, you could look that up on Goethberg?

Hi. The spelling in the previous message is incorrect: it's www.gotheborg.com. Click on Japanese Marks; a list of them will come up (they may take a while to load). You don't have to know the language to find a mark. Have your own mark nearby for reference. Memorize it's overall appearance and then start scrolling. For example, one of your marks has no border and has a sort of trailing tail on it, so start by looking for marks like that and ignore all the others. Once you find your mark and learn something about it, you can then use key words in the description to look your item up in places like ebay. For example, if it's a satsuma piece, look for "satsuma tea" on ebay. Good luck!
