 o
antique chair and wing chair identification help!

Posted by nighthawkra (My Page) on

I just bought 3 chairs from an estate sale shop that recently opened by me.. Got all 3 for 350, but I thought it would be way easier to date these and see what there all about. I am afraid I might have overpaid! The ladies and gents chairs seems to have red velvet fabric that needs some cleaning with ware spots on the one arms, Any ideas of dating these, and if I did okay price wise or if they are just cheap knockoffs? Thanks for any help!

I don't think you overpaid.

As long as the chair frames are solid, you have far better chairs than you could buy for $120 each.

They look like the slightly Frenchified stuff from the 1920s or 1930s.

They look Victotian to me ( 1837-1901 ). I reckon you bought them cheap.
