Is this plate old or a fake

Hi there,
My first post here.
I have just grab this plate at a flea market in the UK.
Could you tell me what it is and if it is not fake.
My guess is that it is a roman plate and that it is authentic... But i am not an expert.

My guess is that it's an old pottery pie plate that's been badly treated, perhaps by being used under a potted plant.

That red color body with cream decorations is quite common because it's natural clay colors.

I believe you are spot on!
The back is black caused by fire and marks of mud would explain your theory that it went below a plant.
Thanks a lot

Maybe you can also help me with silver:

If you need I can help with French / Art Deco stuff...

Make a NEW topic for that silver thing ... is it a candle holder with spikes?

And if you can photograph it sitting upright, in the usual position, and give dimensions, that would help.
