I think the style is Frence Provincial.and does not appear to be of the era you suggest.

And do you have any reason to believe he was a furniture maker.

On this one, I agree with Texas Redhead ... you have a vintage French Provincial china cabinet and buffet. Probably late 1950s through 1970s, and very probably made in a factory.

Have you examined it for maker's marks?

I'm gonna say those two pieces do not go together . The top is much to small for the bottom . The bottom was the server and the top would have a bottom that was more proportionate to the it. The top section with the appropriate bottom , would create a "china/buffet "
It looks to be a " standard " factory made piece . Not sure it's as old as you think or family made .

The big bottom/small top thing was a midcentury thing, though. Usually on modern stuff of course and not frenchy stuff, but it could be like that due to the MCM influence.

Thanks all! He was a furniture maker in Philadelphia, born 1893, but he did not make this piece. I asked some other family who confirmed that lol. I also found a stamp on the back that said White Furn Co 600 689

Guess they were a SC company that did a lot of this stuff. Sorry to waste your time but i wasn't given correct information the first time around from family.
