Tea Set

I bought the pictured tea set yesterday, on the bottom of one of the pots it has E.P.N.S. (ElectroPlated Nickel Silver) the other pot has E.P.N (maybe the S. is missing) and the bowl has E.I.N.S. It has a dull finish and did have what appeared to have some tarnish on it. After polishing the tarnish was removed the finish remained dull. Any help on identification would be appreciated.

It looks like the polish is still in the design. Wash the set in warm soapy water and see if that improves. I wonder if the set is so old that the silver coating has worn off where it looks yellow.

RE: Tea Set

We've since found out that this set is 'German Silver' which is not really silver plate and gets cleaned completely different that silver plate however it does get polished in the last step. Wish I could find out more about it though as to age and where it came from. Thank you for the reply Shelia
