100 year old + Antique Ducan Phyfe Sofa Damaged

Hi,
We have my wife great aunt's a 100 year old plus Antique Ducan Phyfe Sofa that was in excellent shape until is was damaged in our recent move. The movers broke a leg off and the leg can not be retrieved.

We are dealing with the movers insurance company and they have offered us $800.00 repair/replacement cost.

We think that the settlement cost is too low.
We were wondering if anyone had any idea of what is value may be?

Thanks

Whatever anyone says here matters not at all. Get them to pay the actual costs of the replacement and the cost of the decrease in value of the piece due to the replacement leg. You will have to go to an appraiser that the Insurance company will OK...
Antiques and movers and insurance companies are a bad mix! Is till am dealing, after 26 years with the top of a chest that my great great grandfather made that was packed with a solvent soaked moving pad and ruined the finish on the top. They said they would not repair because it woujld be a "betterment" to the piece! And the lag broken off of the very old pine blanket chest...etc.
Hang tough!
