Hoosier Help

Hi there,
I'm restoring an old hoosier that was previously remodeled to have the sliding shelf locked into place, but now I'd like to put it back into a sliding shelf configuration. The shelf is exactly 1" thick and I will be installing new brackets on either side of the hoosier so that the shelf can slide in and out. I see that brackets can be bought over the net but they come in 2 sizes : 1.25" and 1.5" gaps. For my 1" sliding shelf would the 1.25" do ok or the larger 1.5" gap one?
Thanks for the help.
